Rovos Air invites you to join an exclusive five star tour of Southern Africa. A magnificent classic aircraft and dedicated crew will accompany you on this superb adventure which includes two nights at six outstanding venues. An optional pre-air tour starting has been designed to include two nights in Stellenbosch and two nights on Rovos Rail between Cape Town and Pretoria. The twelve-night air tour departs from Johannesburg Lanseria Airport with two nights at Kapama Game Reserve followed by two nights at Fancourt Golf Resort in George and includes visits to Oudtshoorn’s Highgate Ostrich Farm, the Cango caves and the Knysna Waterfront. Then it’s on to Cape Town with a tour of the Cape Peninsula and Table Mountain Cableway. We fly on to Luderitz in Namibia, followed by a flight over Sossusvlei and two nights at the Swakopmund Hotel, a cruise to Pelican Point and a traditional desert barbeque. We continue on to the Okavango Delta for two nights in this exquisite wilderness. A short flight takes us on to the Royal Livingstone Hotel and the Victoria Falls for a two-night stay after which your unique 13-day journey ends with a flight to Lanseria Airport.

09h00 Depart for guided tour of Cape Winelands. Dinner and overnight at Lanzerac.
Day 3 Monday
09h30 Depart hotel for Cape Town Station.
11h00 Rovos Rail’s Pride of Africa departs for Pretoria with visit to Matjiesfontein Victorian Village.
Day 4 Tuesday
14h30 Upon arrival in Kimberley take the electric tram from the city centre for a tour of the Big Hole and museum.
Day 5 Wednesday
12h00 Train arrives Rovos Rail’s private station in Capital Park, Pretoria.

AIR TOUR

Day 1 Wednesday
12h00 Guests meet at Rovos Rail's Capital Park station for introduction and a short tour of the railway depot.
13h00 Lunch is served on the station platform after which guests are transferred to Wonderboom Airport.
14h30 Board aircraft for flight to Hoedspruit in the Kruger Park.
15h30 Transfer to Kapama and Thornybush Game Reserves.
16h00 Game drive followed by dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Thursday
06h00 Early morning game drive followed by breakfast and lunch.
16h00 Afternoon game drive followed by dinner at 20h00.
Day 3 Friday
11h00 After brunch transfer to airport for flight to George.
15h00 Arrive George. Transfer to Fancourt Golf Resort. Afternoon and dinner at leisure.
Day 4 Saturday
09h00 Optional scenic 1-hour drive to visit Highgate Ostrich Farm. Mid morning tour by coach of Knysna followed by lagoon cruise and lunch at Knysna waterfront before returning to hotel.
Day 5 Sunday
09h00 Depart George airport for flight to Cape Town.
10h00 Arrive Cape Town and transfer to the Cape Grace at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Tour of City and Table Mountain Cable Way (weather permitting). Dinner at the hotel.
Day 6 Monday
09h00 After breakfast depart for a guided tour of Cape Peninsula/Winelands/ Robben Island.
13h00 Lunch in Constantia Valley or Winelands with late afternoon and hotel dinner at leisure.
Day 7 Tuesday
09h00 After breakfast, depart hotel for airport. Take-off for flight to Luderitz in Namibia.
12h00 Arrive Luderitz. After lunch a 20-minute transfer by coach for a visit to the mining ghost town of Kolmanskop.
16h00 Depart Luderitz for scenic flight over Sossusvlei to Walvis Bay.
17h30 Transfer through desert scenery to the Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 Wednesday
08h00 After breakfast, depart on a 30-minute drive to Walvis Bay for a boat cruise to Pelican Point followed by light lunch.
16h00 Pick-up from Swakopmund Hotel in 4x4 vehicles for a traditional desert barbeque.
Day 9 Thursday
08h00 After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight via Skeleton Coast to Maun in Botswana.
12h00 Arrive Maun. Flight in light aircraft to various camps in the Okavango Delta. (Chiefs, Jao, Nxabega, Shinde, Khwai, Kwetsani, Xigera, Eagle Island and Duba)
08h00 After lunch there is time for a siesta before the late afternoon wilderness experience. Dinner at the camp.
Day 10 Friday
06h00 After breakfast - guest activities e.g. guided walk, game drive or mokoro canoe trip.
12h00 After brunch there is time for a siesta before the late afternoon outing.
Dinner at the camp.
Day 11 Saturday
10h30 After guest activities and brunch, light aircraft transfer to Maun airport.
11h30 Depart Maun for flight to Livingstone in Zambia.
13h00 Arrive Livingstone. Transfer to the Royal Livingstone Hotel at the Victoria Falls.
16h00 Sundowner cruise on the Zambezi River. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 12 Sunday
  Day at leisure. An activities desk is provided in the foyer of the hotel.
Farewell dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 13 Monday
08h00 After breakfast, transfer to Livingstone airport for flight to Lanseria Airport in northern suburbs of Johannesburg.
12h30 Arrive Lanseria International Airport.
